If you are employed somewhere as a graphic designer, you will definitely want to use any software, you do not have to think about which format to output. They just fix them. But when you have to work as a freelancer for different clients, they have to take decisions due to their different needs. Those who want to come to this profession also make a decision when preparing to learn what software will be in trouble. Here's what to learn in light of the real situation and what is to be noted while working.

The client mentioned two things while describing his work. One is what should be output, another is where it will be used. You have to work under these two basic points.

Output Format

If you look at the graphic design work in the freelancer, you will see that the work is to submit the work in AI, EPS, PNG, JPG format.

AI is an Adobe illustration format. This means you have to do basic work in the  illustrator. If you do not know, then you need to mention it, Photoshop works with bitmap graphics, Illustrator works with vector graphics. You can make the vector a bitmap, and you can not convert the bitmap into vectors. In other words, the use of an illustrator's work as a Photoshop file can not be used to create an image file for the Photoshop. The advantage of the illustrator is to make the rest of the three formats mentioned in it, which can be converted into any of them.

EPS format can be obtained directly from the illustrator or directly from Photoshop. So there is no need to sweat a lot.

PNG format is an image format with transparency. Illustrator or Photoshop works in two places and can be used in this format. So if there is an illustrator format require, there is no way without the illustrator.

Use

Designs can be used mainly for different purposes. Screen and print. For use on web pages, online advertisements, etc. Of course, the image has to be RGB format. And if there are print references, such as pad, papers, T-shirt then make it as CMYK.

Using any software, you can decide which two things to do together. If you have to work in the illustrator, then you will have to work on drawing individually. Use of photographs should also be done carefully. The value is lost if bitmap size changes.

If vector is needed, if there is a chance to work perfectly on bitmaps, then there is a lot more to do. They can also be used by making 3D texts, models or special effects in 3D softwares such as photographs.

Before you start work well, know exactly what you need to do. After giving you a sample of work in Photoshop, you must be in danger if you want to output the vector format. And if you want to start learning new things, do not just depend on only photoshop. Look at the illustrator.
